When the night begins 21.11.2026 Torrelles de Foix 10th edition

The race

Starts in daylight. Finishes at night.

The Cursafosca is a one-of-a-kind semi-nocturnal mountain race in the heart of the Penedès, just a step away from Barcelona. With three routes for every level (12K, 14K and 21K), it pairs the beauty of nature with the adrenaline of trail running on demanding terrain, as daylight gives way to darkness across the landscapes of Torrelles de Foix.

Get ready to feel nature like never before.

Questions

Got a question?

Can I take part if I'm under 18?

Yes. Under-18s must present a parental consent form, which you can download from this website, and hand it in when collecting your bib.

Are there cups at the aid stations?

No. You won't find cups at the aid stations: bring your own cup or bottle. We recommend carrying at least 1 l of water.

Is a headlamp compulsory?

Yes, for all three routes. It's a semi-nocturnal race and the headlamp keeps you safe. Using your phone's flash as a light source is not allowed.

Can I use poles?

Yes, but you must carry them for the whole race. Starting without poles and then picking them up to use along the route is prohibited.

Can I change distance or pass my bib to someone else?

You can switch to a shorter distance up to one week before the event; moving up to a longer distance is not allowed. Name changes on a bib are also accepted up to one week before. Passing your bib to someone else without telling the organisation means disqualification for both participants and exclusion from future editions.

Do I get a refund if I can't come?

No. The organisation does not refund the entry fee in the event of withdrawal. You can, however, change the name on the bib up to one week before, as long as the new participant meets the entry requirements.

What happens if registration sells out?

The platform opens a waiting list in registration order. If a bib frees up you'll receive an email with a payment link and 48 hours to complete the process. After that, the bib passes to the next person on the list and the move is irreversible.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, pets are allowed on a lead and with the organisation's prior permission.

Are there showers and changing rooms?

Yes, at the Jaume Brichs municipal football ground or the Guerau de Peguera school, opposite one another. There is also a bag drop at the Casal Torrellenc.

Where can I park?

There is parking for cars and for campervans in Torrelles de Foix.

Will the roads be closed?

No. The roads crossing the routes remain open to traffic, but marshals are posted at the key points so you can cross safely. Always follow the organisation's instructions.

Can I run with music?

Only with headphones and only when it's safe. Take them off when crossing any road and when approaching checkpoints and aid stations, and keep noise cancellation switched off.

What happens if I drop litter on the route?

Dropping litter outside the designated areas means immediate disqualification. We run through a landscape we want to leave exactly as we found it.

What if the race is called off?

The organisation reserves the right to cancel the event at any point before the start if participants' safety is at risk due to weather or external factors. In that case there is no refund, but you receive the gifts tied to your registration (sweatshirt, finisher's medal and sponsors' gifts) on the day itself, at the bib collection point.

All the small print is in the rules. Registration queries: [email protected]. Organisation queries: [email protected].
